World Language Magnet Program

Chappell Elementary School offers excellent opportunities for the students of the Ravenswood and Bowmannville neighborhoods and beyond. Chappell participates in the CPS Magnet Cluster Program. Because of this, K-8 students who do not live in our attendance area are able to apply for available seats through the CPS Options for Knowledge program.

All students in grades K-8 study Spanish (60 minutes per week, K-2 and 120 minutes per week, 3-8). Students who already speak Spanish at home study Spanish as a Heritage Language and further develop their speaking and literacy skills in Spanish. Non-Spanish speakers develop skills appropriate to their grade level. Non-native speakers in grades 6-8 complete the equivalent of the first year of high school Spanish.
