ACCEPTING K-8 REGISTRATIONS AND REGISTRATION FOR PRESCHOOL STUDENTS ASSIGNED VIA CHICAGO EARLY LEARNING FOR THE 2022-23 SCHOOL YEAR!

We encourage all families who live in our attendance area or who are accepted via the GoCPS.edu Options for Knowledge Lottery or who are assigned by Chicago Early Learning to enroll as early as possible so that adequate staffing will be in place to start the new school year.

General Enrollment Information

NOTE TO PARENTS LOOKING TO ENROLL IN PRESCHOOL:  Living in our attendance area does not guarantee a seat in our preschool program.  Preschool enrollment is directed by central office and is a multi-step process that begins by parents applying to various schools online. Visit the PARENTS tab on our school website for more information on this process. Students assigned to Chappell via Chicago Early Learning may register using the same process as K-8 students.

NOTE TO PARENTS OF CURRENT PRESCHOOL STUDENTS (Rooms 110, 111):  If you live in our school attendance area, you do not need to re-enroll for kindergarten. Your child will be automatically enrolled at Chappell. If you do not live in our attendance area, your child will be automatically transferred to his/her home school on June 30. If your child was enrolled at Chappell in grades K-8 during the 21-22 school year, you do not need to re-enroll for 22-23.

Chappell School is a neighborhood school and we accept K-8 students who live within our attendance area boundary. To determine if you live in our attendance area, visit:

Available seats for K-8 students who live outside of the attendance area are filled through the application and computerized lottery selection process. For more information on this GoCPS lottery, visit: https://go.cps.edu/about-gocps

If you applied for the lottery last fall and you are wait-listed, be aware that the number of wait-listed offers we accept will depend upon the number of children living in our attendance area that enroll and, consequently, the number of empty seats available.  We will call wait-listed families by phone over the next few months as we determine seats are available. Please do not contact the school about the wait list. Parents of students who have been offered a seat through the lottery may register using the same process we use for students who live within the boundaries (above).
